Our Story

We started Bolt because we'd been on the other side. We knew what finance teams actually needed - and it wasn't more slides, more theory, or more expensive software.

Finance teams were being underserved

After years working in finance roles and as consultants, we noticed a pattern. Finance teams needed practical help with data, reporting, and planning. But the consulting firms they could afford couldn't do the technical work, and the ones who could were too expensive, too slow, and too focused on selling software.

So finance teams were left building their own solutions in Excel. Or relying on IT. Or paying premium rates for juniors in suits who'd never closed a month-end.

We thought we could do better.

A consultancy built for finance teams

We built Bolt to be the consultancy we wished we'd had. Small enough to care, skilled enough to deliver. We combine finance understanding with technical capability - people who can talk to a CFO about month-end close and then build the automation to fix it.

We don't pretend every engagement is a digital transformation. Sometimes you just need someone to build a Power BI dashboard that actually works. Sometimes you need to fix the data before you can do anything else. We do the work that needs doing.

We don't measure success by deliverables produced. We measure it by problems solved. Did the month-end get faster? Did the board finally get useful reports? That's what counts.

We'll tell you if your idea won't work. We'll tell you if your data isn't ready. We'd rather have an uncomfortable conversation now than a failed project later.

The best solution is usually the simplest one that works. We don't overcomplicate things to justify our fees. We build what you need, not what impresses procurement.

We succeed when you don't need us anymore. We document, we train, we build things your team can maintain. We're consultants, not contractors-for-life.

We don't manufacture crises to sell more work. If something can wait, we'll tell you. If something's not broken, we won't fix it. We want long-term relationships, not short-term fees.

We're not trying to be the biggest consultancy. We're trying to be the best partner for finance teams who need practical help delivered by people who understand their world.
