IBM Planning Analytics & TM1 Consultants UK

IBM Planning Analytics and TM1 consultants in the UK. Cloud, on-premise, or hybrid - we've been working with the TM1 engine since its Cognos days. The deep expertise that comes from years of actual implementations.

What is IBM Planning Analytics?

IBM Planning Analytics (formerly Cognos TM1) is an enterprise planning platform built on the TM1 OLAP engine. It's known for exceptional calculation speed, deep Excel integration, and the flexibility to handle complex planning scenarios that other tools struggle with.

TM1 engine power

In-memory OLAP technology delivers instant calculations across large data volumes. Complex allocations in seconds, not hours.

Excel integration

Work directly in Excel with live connection to TM1 cubes. Familiar interface for users, real-time data for accuracy.

Complex modelling

Handle sophisticated allocation rules, transfer pricing, and multi-currency consolidation that simpler tools can't manage.

Proven scale

Decades of enterprise deployments. Handles massive data volumes and complex hierarchies reliably.

AI-powered insights

Predictive forecasting and trend analysis built in. AI-driven recommendations to accelerate planning cycles and surface opportunities.

Personal sandboxes

Model unlimited what-if scenarios in isolated sandbox environments. Test assumptions without affecting production data.

IBM Planning Analytics & TM1 Consultancy

We're TM1 consultants who've worked with the platform since its Cognos days. Not just the newer interfaces - the engine itself. TurboIntegrator, rules optimisation, the stuff that actually matters for performance. Whether you're on cloud, on-premise, or somewhere in between, we know how to make it work properly.

1

Deep TM1 experience

Years with the platform, not months. We know the engine's quirks, the performance gotchas, the things that trip up consultants who only know the surface.

2

Finance understanding

We've worked in FP&A. We understand the business problems, not just the platform mechanics. Solutions that work for finance teams, not just IT.

3

Modernisation expertise

Upgrades to Planning Analytics Workspace, cloud migration, modernising legacy Cognos TM1 implementations. We help you get current without breaking what works.

4

Honest assessment

Sometimes IBM Planning Analytics is the right answer. Sometimes it's not. We help you evaluate objectively - we're not an IBM-only shop.

5

Platform-agnostic advice

We're not tied to one vendor. If another tool fits better, we'll tell you.

6

Proven methodology

Structured approach from 30+ implementations. You'll know what's coming and when.

IBM Planning Analytics & TM1 FAQs

What's the difference between IBM Planning Analytics and TM1?
TM1 is the OLAP engine that powers Planning Analytics. IBM renamed the product but the engine is the same. Planning Analytics adds the web interface (PAW) and modern Excel add-in (PAx). If you're on "Cognos TM1" you're essentially on an older version of the same technology.
Should I migrate from TM1 on-premise to the cloud?
Depends on your situation. Cloud reduces infrastructure overhead and keeps you current automatically. But some organisations need on-premise for data sovereignty or complex integrations. We can assess your environment honestly - not everyone should move to cloud, despite what sales teams tell you.
How do I find a good TM1 consultant?
Find someone who knows the engine, not just the interfaces. Many consultants know PAW but can't optimise TurboIntegrator or tune rules. Ask about performance tuning experience - if they look blank, move on. Certifications are a baseline. Years of real TM1 experience is what matters.
Our TM1 environment is a mess. Can you help?
Common situation. Most TM1 environments grow organically without proper governance. We audit what you have, find the quick wins, and develop a roadmap. Sometimes that means fixing what you've got. Sometimes it means starting fresh. We'll give you an honest assessment, not just try to sell you the biggest project.
