FP&A & Finance Planning

Your month-end shouldn't take 10 days. Your forecast shouldn't be a guess. And your board pack shouldn't be a panic. We help finance teams get their planning house in order.

The challenges keeping finance teams up at night

Month-end takes 10+ days

You're still closing last month while stakeholders want next quarter's forecast. The close is a fire drill, every single time.

"Which spreadsheet is current?"

Budget_v3_FINAL_JD_comments. Version control is a joke. Nobody trusts the numbers because nobody knows which file is right.

The board asks, you can't answer

"What if revenue drops 10%?" Good question. Give me a week. Ad-hoc scenario analysis is slow, manual, and painful.

Errors hiding in plain sight

Last quarter's variance? A broken formula. The budget that went to the board? A fat-fingered cell. Excel doesn't catch these.

Good FP&A talent keeps leaving

They didn't study finance to copy-paste between spreadsheets. Your best people want analysis, not data wrangling.

Technology paralysis

You know you need a planning tool. But Anaplan? Pigment? Planful? The demos blur together and the costs don't. You're stuck.

We don't just implement software

Most consultancies will sell you a platform and leave you to figure out the rest. We start differently: by understanding what decisions you need to make, then designing the models and processes to support them.

1

Understand your world

We map your current process, identify where it breaks, and understand what "better" actually means for your team.

2

Design the target state

Not the software - the operating model. What reports? What cadence? What inputs? Technology comes after.

3

Pick the right tool

Based on your needs, complexity, and budget. Sometimes that's Anaplan. Sometimes it's fixing your existing Excel models.

4

Build alongside you

We implement with your team, not instead of them. Phased delivery means you see value early, not just at the end.

5

Train and enable

Your team learns by doing, not watching. We transfer knowledge throughout so you're self-sufficient when we leave.

6

Support the journey

Planning isn't a one-time project. We stay on hand for optimisation, new requirements, and ongoing evolution.

We're certified across the leading platforms

We don't have a favourite. We recommend what fits your world - not what pays us the highest commission.

The enterprise powerhouse

Unmatched flexibility for complex, connected planning. Multi-dimensional modelling at scale. Steeper learning curve, but capable of almost anything.

Best for
Complex organisations, integrated business planning, driver-based models
The modern contender

Intuitive interface that finance people actually want to use. Real-time collaboration. Faster time to value than traditional EPM. Growing fast.

Best for
Mid-market, user adoption priority, visual planning
The practical choice

Solid financial consolidation and reporting. Excel-like feel that accountants love. Less flashy, more proven. Good value.

Best for
Financial consolidation, statutory reporting, traditional FP&A
The TM1 legacy

Powerful OLAP engine with deep Excel integration. Massive installed base. Great for organisations already invested in the IBM ecosystem.

Best for
TM1 upgrades, IBM shops, heavy Excel users, complex allocations

How engagements typically work

We don't do 200-slide discovery phases. We start small, prove value, then scale.

Frequently asked

Do we need to replace our ERP?
Almost never. Planning tools sit on top of your ERP, not instead of it. We integrate with whatever you have - Sage, NetSuite, Dynamics, SAP, or just your accounting system exports.
How long does implementation take?
A focused FP&A model can be live in 8-12 weeks. More complex implementations with multiple use cases typically run 4-8 months. We always phase it - you'll see value before the full rollout.
What does Anaplan/Pigment/Planful actually cost?
It varies hugely based on users, data volume, and modules. Rough ranges: Anaplan £100-300k+/year for enterprise, Pigment and Planful often £40-120k/year for mid-market. We help you negotiate and right-size licenses.
Will our team need training?
Yes, but we build training into the implementation - not as an afterthought. By the time we leave, your team can run the day-to-day. For ongoing model development, that's where Admin-as-a-Service comes in if you need it.
What if we're not ready for a full platform?
That's fine - and honestly, sometimes you're not. The Optimisation Study will tell us whether you need new technology or whether fixing your processes and existing tools is the smarter first step.
